This Garnier Limb® (GL®) is 17” long with a 3” Boss and 9” Perch. 3" Boss gives more load capacity. The 9” Perch gives you an extra 3” of growth or you can add more Boss for higher loads. Typically used in more moderate size Treehouses.
Made from 4150 steel quenched and tempered R-32 hardness. Yellow Zinc Plate protects the Garnier Limb from excessive rust in places where there is high moisture.
Garnier Limbs® are the foundation of a treehouse by anchoring the treehouse to a tree. GL’s® are designed to hold the load out away from the tree in shear.

Solid Tab
So far so good. Still in the construction phase - basic support posts, framing, glue lam beams and floor decking. These Tabs seem to be made of quality steel and are massive. They screwed right into the large hole bored out previously with the rental bit. I used a 24" pipe wrench to screw them int o their respective tree locations. Definitely required a lot of torque as the pre-drilled holes are slightly smaller in diameter and provide for a very snug fit. They are supporting my two 20'x9-1/2"x3-5/8" glue laminated beams which are used to support the entire base structure. Everythings appears to very solid!

Great stuff
This GL bolt is wonderful... great strength, great engineering and easy enough to install... Just what I needed.

quite ingenious
The Garnier limb is predicated on the theory the tree houses should allow the trees to sway without damaging the treehouse structure itself. The limbs are made of high grade polished stInless steel and machined to perfection. The threaded part engages in the tree snugly requiring heavy duty pipe wrench. The large, solid "boss" at the base of the threaded part embeds in the tree securely- 2" deep. The 9" pitch accepts the horizontal load/bearing log )in my case) or manufactured beam. I installed it yesterday and the log is level to perfection. Yes, you need the brackets to secure the log to the limbs

Strong and nice-looking
A fine invention. The three-inch boss provides plenty of leverage for high loads, and the 9" perch permits some slide room for perfect alignment with another limb. Only 4 stars because of an inherent difficulty with this sort of installation--if you use a large pipe wrench, you tend to bugger up the beautiful yellow-zinc finish. It you attempt to install with a large socket, you risk not being able to get the nut back off, which you may need to do.

beautiful
I can truly say these limbs are beautiful. I almost want to polish them up a little and use one of them as a table centerpiece. Got here fast and packed for maximum protection. I am impressed with the quality and craftsmanship I find in the Garnier Limbs
