The 1-Step 3-stage GL® Bit is a 1-piece Bit and Boss drill guide that takes the guesswork out of lining up the different sizes of bits, so you get maximum weight-bearing capacity out of your Garnier limb®. The 1-Step system allows you to use one bit for the entire length of your Garnier Limb®, making it easier than ever to install your new Garnier Limb®. Used in soft and hardwood applications.
We charge $50 monthly rental fee and a $300 deposit. Send the bit back to us (include your order# and name of person who rented the bit) and we will refund your deposit of $250. If you keep the bit for two months we will refund you $200 and if you want to buy the bit the price is $300 and you just keep the bit. If your drilling into hard wood like oak we recommend you use a 1" bit first.

Instructions match experience
The web site video and article on installation were very helpful as I knew what to expect and could visualize each step of the process. There were no problems along the way and all four GL's fit tightly.

The right tool for the job
This bit is nearly a perfect design. the only flaw it has is that when you are drilling the larger "hole" part, it tries to "dig" faster than it can cut, which causes the screw tip to loose its bite, resulting in more forward force having to be applied by the operator. It obviously requires a large and powerful drill, I used a "mud mixing" 1/2 inch drill which worked very well.

Easy way to Install TABs
I rented the 1 step 3 stage GL bit. It made the installation of the TABs a snap. I hot glued a level bible to my 1/2 inch drill - which made getting them level a little easier.

A must for treehouse construction.
Thank you for custom made this device. It made treehouse building a lot easier and take away the worries if the hole is deep enough, right, or straight. This is a highly recommended item if you are going to install a GL to your tree. It will save you plenty of time that can be spent turning the GL to the tree.

Well engineered bit that is perfectly compatible with setting the GL. This is what brought me to the GLs over other tab products on the market. Glad I did!
